People differ meaningfully in hunger, satiety, food reward, appetite, stress eating, and how punishing a calorie deficit feels. Those differences help explain why some people maintain leanness with little conscious effort while others experience fat loss as a constant negotiation with appetite. Calorie balance still governs the outcome, but hunger helps determine how difficult that balance is to manage. Good coaching treats appetite as a real variable and designs around it through food selection, protein, fiber, meal structure, environment, sleep, stress regulation, and realistic pacing.
